This morning was a big morning at our house. For the first time EVER both boys buttoned their school pants all by themselves!
They have been working on buttons at therapy for months…maybe for as long as we have been going there. They can do big buttons and buttons that aren’t on their body at the time. But the smaller buttons on their pants were beyond their fine motor capabilities.
This morning Dean was determined to button his pants by himself and he worked at it for at least 5 minutes before he finally got it to work. He was so proud! That spurred Emory’s need to accomplish the task so he worked at it as well.
Yay! for therapy! Yay! for fine motor skill development! Yay! for another milestone! And maybe most important….Yay! that I won’t be dressing them at age 16! (just kidding!) 
Yaaaay! That’s awesome!
Maybe it’s just MY SON who is not that into buttons! I swear, he didn’t get blue-jean snap or button down until about 1/2 way through Kindergarten! Your boys are RockStars!!!!!
I can totally appreciate a moment of new found independence .
